Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Nursing Award
This award recognises the exceptional contribution of an individual nurse working in adult social care. It celebrates dedication, innovation and leadership in delivering high-quality care that improves the lives and wellbeing of those supported.
Nurses in social care play a vital and often complex role—managing clinical needs, leading care teams and driving improvements in practice. This award honours a nurse who consistently demonstrates excellence, champions innovation and makes a meaningful, lasting impact within their service and the wider community.
Criteria
Person-Centred Care
- Delivers compassionate, person-centred care that respects dignity, autonomy and individual preferences
Innovation and Practice Improvement
- Demonstrates innovative approaches to meeting complex health and care needs
- Improves outcomes, quality of life and/or service efficiency
Leadership and Collaboration
- Shows strong leadership, inspiring and supporting colleagues to deliver high standards
- Works effectively across multidisciplinary teams, promoting collaboration and continuous learning
Advocacy and Engagement
- Advocates for the rights and needs of individuals receiving care
- Actively involves people in decisions, promoting choice and control
Impact and Sustainability
- Demonstrates measurable impact and sustained improvements in care outcomes
- Contributes to the development of best practice within the service or wider sector
Team Contribution
- Brings teams together through strong communication and collaboration
- Creates a positive, supportive environment that drives excellence in care
Eligibility
- Open to individual nurses working in adult social care settings, including care homes, community services, domiciliary care, supported living and hospices in East Sussex or Brighton & Hove
- Must hold a current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration
Submission Requirements
- Nominations must not exceed 500 words
- Completed forms should be submitted to Administrator@espic.co.uk
How it Works
Nominations will be reviewed by an independent Awards Panel.
The panel will shortlist three finalists. One winner and up to three highly commended awards will be announced on the night. In the event of a tie, the Head Judge will have the casting vote.
All nominators and nominees will be informed of the outcome.
The Awards Panel is made up of three independent judges, plus a guest judge for this category (Registered Nurse).
