International Recruitment: Ethical Sponsorship Bulletin

Our Ethical Sponsorship Programme is designed to strengthen sponsorship practice, support internationally recruited care professionals, and reduce the risk of avoidable sponsorship breakdown across East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

Delivered in partnership with local authorities, the South East Social Care Alliance (SESCA) and trusted voluntary and community sector organisations, the programme focuses on early intervention, practical guidance and prevention.

For providers, the programme focuses on strengthening understanding of sponsorship duties and reducing the risk of avoidable issues.

For workers, it provides safe access to support, helping individuals understand their rights, and know where to turn if something doesn’t feel right at work.

Free online workshop for care providers

Who is this for?

This 2 hour online workshop is designed for adult social care providers operating in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove, who sponsor internationally recruited staff under the UK Skilled Worker visa route.

About the workshop

This practical session is designed to support providers with any compliance challenges, reduce the risk of avoidable issues, and provide clear, up-to-date guidance on:

  • Identifying and addressing sponsorship compliance risks
  • Reducing the risk of license suspension or revocation
  • Applying supplementary working rules correctly
  • Strengthening ethical sponsorship practices

The webinar, delivered by expert advisors in immigration and employment law will include time to ask questions and discuss real-world scenarios relevant to care providers.

The session is suitable for providers who want reassurance, clarity, or to strengthen their understanding of sponsorship responsibilities.

Who is this for?

Internationally recruited care professionals working in adult social care under the UK Skilled Worker visa route.

About the workshops

Delivered by experts from trusted local support organisations, these workshops provide a safe, supportive space to ask questions and share experiences with others in similar situations.

You will receive clear, practical advice to help you understand:

  • What good and poor sponsorship practice looks like

  • Your sponsorship and employment rights

  • Visa conditions, including supplementary working rules

  • Where to get help if something doesn’t feel right
