Care Team of the Year Award
This award recognises a care team that demonstrates exceptional commitment, compassion and excellence in delivering high-quality, person-centred care. It is open to teams working across residential, nursing, domiciliary and community settings, including hospices, particularly those supporting individuals with complex needs requiring advanced clinical input, multi-disciplinary coordination or highly personalised support.
Eligibility
- Open to care teams across residential, nursing, domiciliary and community care settings, including hospices
- Teams supporting individuals with complex physical, mental health, behavioural or clinical needs are strongly encouraged
- The team must have worked together for a minimum of 6 months

- Provide clear, specific examples (avoid general statements)
- Evidence consistent performance, not one-off success
- Highlight the team’s unique contribution and impact
- Demonstrate excellence in complex care situations

Excellence in Complex Care Delivery
- Demonstrates high-level skills in supporting complex needs (e.g. comorbidities, behavioural challenges, advanced clinical care)
- Manages risk effectively while promoting independence and quality of life
- Works confidently with specialist equipment, interventions and care plans
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Communicates effectively within the team and with external professionals (e.g. clinicians, therapists, social workers)
- Demonstrates a cohesive and supportive team culture
- Shares knowledge and best practice to improve outcomes
Innovation and Problem Solving
- Introduces creative solutions to overcome care challenges
- Responds proactively to changing or complex needs
- Implements improvements that enhance quality and safety

Please demonstrate how the team meets the above criteria in no more than 500 words.
How it Works
- Completed nominations should be submitted to Administrator@espic.co.uk
- Nominations will be reviewed by an independent Awards Panel
The panel will shortlist three finalists. One winner and two highly commended awards will be announced on the night. In the event of a tie, the Head Judge will have the casting vote.
All nominators will be informed of the outcome.
The Awards Panel is made up of three independent judges.
